'Are we Going to Scarborough Fair...' Currently on show at the Bradford Playhouse in the theatre bar, open most days! (See the Bradford Playhouse website for details of events and general opening hours.)

A collection of previously unseen works on board accompany '7 on 5', which is doing a bit of a UK tour at the minute!

On '7 on 5' I am trying to find a more permanent home for this set of canvases as it is simply to large to store in my studio when it is not on display. I would hate to have to...

Living Advent Window

Posted by Sarah Mason on Friday, December 31, 2010, In : Out and About

As most of you know, I have recently moved to the quaint and artistic village of Saltaire and as soon as I arrived I was keen to get involved in village activities. So, this year I am taking part in the Saltaire living advent calender. For those of you with no prior knowledge of this, it is basically where 24 houses each decorate one window in a Christmas theme. The windows are then lit up as you would open an advent calender, one a day. I am number 2, and so my window has been lit from 2nd ...

Pizza Express Commission

Posted by Sarah Mason on Monday, November 15, 2010, In : Out and About
Head down to the new Pizza Express restaurant at the Arndale Centre in Headingley to see my latest commissioned painting.

I was asked to complete a canvas based around the theme of 'Headingley' which was quite an open brief. As such, to provide myself with some direction I walked around the local area, picking up discarded items from the pavements, bus shelters and benches. These objects then formed the basis for my painting.

Have a look and see what objects you can spot hiding away in the blue...

Feast Your Eyes @ The Halo

Posted by Sarah Mason on Friday, September 17, 2010, In : Out and About

Here's the flyer for Saturday's awesome free event at the Halo site above Haslingdon. Pack a picnic, grab some friends, make a kite and have lots of fun!!!

We're meeting at St James Church in Haslingdon to walk up to the Halo site as there is no parking at the site. It is a short walk (about 3/4 mile) but is on quite an uphill slope so wear sensible shoes! If you are disabled, elderly or with babies then you are able to drive right up to the site.

Looking forward to it!

Beachy Things Opens

Ok bloggers, so I’m afraid it’s been over a month since my last entry and as such lots has happened. I’m going to try and condense things as much as possible here so you don’t feel like you’re reading an essay here, so enjoy!

After a lovely (if exceptionally cold) couple of weeks back in the UK with friends and family for Christmas, I returned to my idyllic island in the Mediterranean. The culture shock on returning home and then arriving back in sunny Cyprus is truly remarkable. I...
