Starting Soon: Adult Art Group

What exciting news! I am starting an adults only art group. So get those kids in bed, park your partner in front of the box and hot foot it down to the fully equipped studio at ArtBugs for a fantastic evening.

All sessions are artist led by myself, but this is not about learning how to paint a certain way or everyone producing the same type of tapestry!

This is sooooo much more fun than that!

REALISE

Its that time of year again folks, the REALISE project is hitting town! 

REALISE is a fantastic project for 16-19 year olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). We meet for three afternoons a week, share lunch together and take part in creative, independent, pair and group activities that aim to boost young people's self-confidence and enable them to take a next step, whatever that might be.

Happy New Year

Welcome to 2013!

And what an exciting year it is already lining up to be. I am starting the year working with Skippko on the Watch This Space project where we are working with parents to build confidence. Then I am running an intensive book making project with New Bewerley Community School where we are planning on writing, creating and publishing our own book! Then following that all up, a new REALISE programme in the run up to Easter and a two week painting project in Cyprus.

1. Friday May 27th is 'Hot on the Catwalk' Rose and Brown's vintage fashion show with a selection of vintage stalls, cabaret seating and the all important catwalk. Pizza Express Commission

Head down to the new Pizza Express restaurant at the Arndale Centre in Headingley to see my latest commissioned painting.

I was asked to complete a canvas based around the theme of 'Headingley' which was quite an open brief. As such, to provide myself with some direction I walked around the local area, picking up discarded items from the pavements, bus shelters and benches. These objects then formed the basis for my painting.
